What really happen in fast food companies

I am very upset after watching the documentary food Inc, because I have learned what is really behind of all those big companies such as McDonalds, Wendys, etc. Many people get sick, or even die from infected food produced by those companies. Most of those international companies have farms all over the world with growing every kind of animal, so they save money at the most. Feeding the chickens, the cow and even the fishes with corn because is very cheap and grows up faster than other products. According the documentary, a regular chicken needs three months to be ready to be eaten, but McDonalds can make a bigger chicken than the regular in 49 days. Threatening the workers with lawsuit if they say anything of what happen inside the farms, they keep serving the dangerous for us food. Moreover, having the cheapest food in the market, they “force” low-income families to buy their food in order to save money. As a result, many people suffer with diseases and death, and the overweight rate has increased the past years. A strong example is the death of the Kevin, from being perfectly healthy, died eleven days after eating a burger. Careless, about people health, and the governments unable to control them; they are keep spreading around diseases. In my opinion, like Oprah, everyone has to inform people that do not know what happen behind those big companies and not to get affected from the commercials they see in T.V. Finally, I would like to warn you to stay away from those fast food restaurants if you want to still be healthy.

  1. Theo - You make a lot of great points! I especially like the way you describe how the poor (and middle-class) are basically forced to eat terrible food.

    Great job.
